Wheelift transporters are designed for tandem operation. Two, three, or four transporters can drive under crib-supported loads during assembly, in-plant transport, or storage operations. While these transporter are typically used in manufacturing assembly operations, major rigging companies that do both heavy haul and in-plant millwright operations can consider these IN-PLANT SPMTs (“IP-SPMT”) as a new tool that can augment their typical over-the-road-SPMT operations. Wheelift transporters are designed specifically for working in highly congested and confined areas. They are designed to move very heavy components into their final positions deep within mines, or hydro projects wherever conventional SPMTs can not travel. |
